  6. each end.  Control
  7. arms are used to
  8. attach suspension
  9. components to the
  10. chassis.

  13. or cast with two
  14. inboard pivots
  15. points, making them
  16. stronger than
  17. normal control
  18. arms.  Some
  19. lightweight
  20. front-end designs
  21. use control arms
  22. instead of A-arms.

  24. When coil springs
  25. are used in rear
  26. suspension, control
  27. arms are used
  28. between the rear
  29. axle housing and
  30. the frame to carry
  31. driving and braking
  32. torque.  Lower
  33. control arms pivot
  34. where they meet the
  35. frame members to
  36. allow up-and-down
  37. movement of the
  38. wheel assembly. 
  39. Coil springs are
  40. often mounted
  41. between the lower
  42. control arm and a
  43. spring seat in
  44. frame or chassis.
